I thought I was flying into a sparse western outpost when I visited Dave McNally in Billings, Montana, in 1986. Wrong. Listen to me narrate the article my visit produced.
I always thought that the O's were best represented as players you could count on in the clutch by Brooks, Palmer & McNally. However, I never really knew why until you, John, made these tapes available.
I played for the Washington GasLight American Legion team in the 1957 American Legion World Series in Billings, MT I bet McNally would have been in the stands.
I was 11 and a 2nd year O's fan when they swept the Dodgers in '66. Watching McNally pitch the clincher and Brooks proving white men can jump, lol,is a memory forever etched in my mind. I'm a lefty, so Dave has been and always will be my favorite O's pitcher. I was sad when he left in '75. But I will always have great memories of his time with the Birds.

Almost definitely, he was there. Glad you are enjoying the tapes.
