Hi John, I remember this story from a previous writing of yours. I was a new O's fan as a 10 year old in '65 Blefary became my favorite Oriole. Maybe because I was also a lefty. I even wore his #3 in Little League. Hated the trade for Cuellar but we know how that worked out. Sad that his candle burned out quickly but so happy his final wish was granted. Forever an Oriole

We use to have some Orioles Players come to Salisbury Md to just meet and signed for fans before each season but No More. Everything now is always about the $$ Fans are Last in Line yet charged the most.

Unless you Pay extra you can't watch the games and the kids now are losing interest.

No more this week in Baseball ,Game of the week,

Baseball is coming up the Biggest Loser as only those who have Spendable cash Get to watch the games.

Hello John. Great story about Curt. I was 9 years old when I saw him in 1966. Had his baseball cards and loved the guy. In the 90s when I did the bird expo at the pikesville armory I had the pleasure to bringing him up from Florida to do a card show. He stayed at our house with my wife and I. He was a gentlemen and great guy. Thank you for the memories and love your material. Regards. Harry Repas.

One day would love to meet you and have dinner or crabs and talk baseball. I had many Orioles at our shows in the 90s and had a lot of fun meeting them.

Keep on writing and let me know if you are ever interested. Thank you.

In 1966 I was a 12 year old avid O's fan. Still am..except now I'm 71! I listened to every game not on TV on my pocket transistor radio and kept a scrapbook of articles from the 66 season. Little did I know "we" would sweep those smug Dodgers! Curt was my favorite Oriole that year. Not sure why, but I think it was his hustle. Playing hard appealed to me and that's how I played too..albeit not nearly as well as Curt. Sorry to hear he was bitter about his career. At least his final wishes were honored. Thanks for the update Mr. Eisenberg.

Kevin, I've found that any mention of Curt stirs quite a reaction. He was very popular.

Did he know how popular he was at the time? Also, I bought The Last Manager, after reading your review. We are heading down to Sarasota in a few says. I look forward to reading it between O's games.
